HRS is a diverse team offering expertise in several areas of human resources management, including recruitment and selection; learning and organizational development; official languages, language training and assessment; pay and benefits; labour relations; occupational health, safety and environment; HR systems; classification; and respectful workplace programs.</p><p>About the Role:<br />As the Disability Management Advisor, you contribute in fostering the existence of a healthy work environment which promotes the mental and physical wellbeing of the House of Common Administration employees, by proactively managing both occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses, including medical accommodation cases.</p><p>The ideal person:<br />You are an expert in the analysis and proactive management of all occupational and non-occupational files. We strive to make our organization a place where everyone feels they belong.<br />If you require accommodation during the application or assessment process, please contact hr.rh@parl.gc.ca for additional support.</p></div><div class="PostingPrerequisitesSection"><span class="PostingPrerequisitesSectionTitle">Education</span><ul><li>A post-secondary diploma or certificate in the fields of Disability Management, Occupational Health and Safety, Health Sciences, Return to Work, or a related field.</li></ul></div><div class="PostingPrerequisitesSection"><span class="PostingPrerequisitesSectionTitle">Experience</span><ul><li>Experience in providing timely advice and recommendation to management pertaining to human rights, disability management and return to work, workplace accommodation, attendance management;</li><li>Experience in facilitating accommodation and return to work meetings;</li><li>Experience in dealing with internal and external stakeholders (insurance companies);</li><li>Experience in developing programs and tools, analyzing data, preparing reports and recommendations;</li><li>Experience developing and implementing workplace accommodation and return to work plans for occupational and non-occupational illness or injuries.</li></ul></div><div class="PostingPrerequisitesSection"><span class="PostingPrerequisitesSectionTitle">Asset</span><ul><li>Knowledge of the Human Rights legislation and Occupational Health and Safety legislation.</li></ul></div><div class="PostingCompetencies"><p>Candidates will be evaluated against House of Commons Administration Competency Framework – Professional/Advisory</p></div> The purpose of this recruitment and selection process is to staff the position of Disability Management Advisor on a determinate basis up to a period of 24 months and to create a pool of potential candidates that may be considered to staff future vacancies for this position or for other similar and/or related positions on an indeterminate and/or determinate basis. Consideration may be given to candidates with other linguistic profiles.<div class="PostingEssentialInformation"><ul><li>**Effective November 22, 2021, all individuals entering the Parliamentary Precinct are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID 19, unless accommodated based on a medical contraindication. Individuals are considered to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 fourteen (14) days after they have received the recommended doses of one vaccine or combination of vaccines approved by Health Canada.</li><li>**As part of the application process, candidates will be asked to identify their vaccination status. The successful candidate must show proof of vaccination, or medical contraindication.</li><li>**In the event that a candidate is selected to be assessed on-site, proof that they are fully vaccinated will be required along with government issued ID at that time.</li><li>In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and further to public health guidelines, preventative measures are being taken to ensure health and safety during the recruitment process. </li><li>Assessments and interviews may be held in-person or virtually and the use of technology may be required.
