You will be responsible for the development, implementation, and continuous renewal of a risk-based internal control framework to provide reasonable assurance on financial information used for decision making, as well as to provide training, education and support to business partners as it is rolled out. You will lead the design, development and delivery of a model that maps business processes and helps business partners identify key services and associated controls. In this role, you will work with partners to ensure due diligence with regard to the interpretation, application and adherence to applicable policies, standards and practices for sound financial risk management. </p><p>The ideal person:<br />You are an experienced finance professional that has a background in a variety of financial related disciplines, including internal controls. You must be well organized and able to provide timely advice while effectively managing your conflicting priorities. You must also be a strong communicator as well as an effective listener to better understand and service your clients. To be successful, you will have to be analytical when looking at the current service delivery models and practices to make improvements that reflect the clients needs and workplace realities while identifying key internal controls. Successful candidates that are awarded a long-term determinate position may be considered for an indeterminate Manager, Practices, Procedures and Internal Controls position if they become available. Potential candidates may be considered for other temporary or indeterminate positions requiring similar experience and competencies at the House of Commons.
