The Officer also participates in the planning, development, testing and deployment of new hardware/software, applications, projects, and defect fixes and enhancements.</p><p>The ideal person:<br />You possess the ability to manage multiple requirements and priorities. You have strong analytical skills in order to develop solutions and make valuable recommendations. We strive to make our organization a place where everyone feels they belong.<br />If you require accommodation during the application or assessment process, please contact for additional support.</p></div><div class="PostingPrerequisitesSection"><span class="PostingPrerequisitesSectionTitle">Education</span><ul><li>Successful completion of post-secondary education with diploma in Information Technology OR acceptable combination of education, training and relevant experience.</li></ul></div><div class="PostingPrerequisitesSection"><span class="PostingPrerequisitesSectionTitle">Experience</span><ul><li>Experience in providing first-level support to users and clients by phone and e-mail on the resolution of issues with applications;</li><li>Experience in the analysis of user requirements for applications and web sites;</li><li>Experience in developing and delivering training to users on new or enhanced applications;</li><li>Experience with the understanding of Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office;</li><li>Experience working with different levels of client and able to adapt to different audiences and situations;</li><li>Experience working with computer hardware and peripherals.</li></ul></div><div class="PostingPrerequisitesSection"><span class="PostingPrerequisitesSectionTitle">Asset</span><ul><li>Knowledge of streaming protocols, distribution and encoding;</li><li>Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro, and any other knowledge of MPEG editor tools;</li><li>Experience with software, application and website testing;</li><li>Knowledge of security applications and/or systems;</li><li>Experience with PeopleSoft or an Enterprise Resource Planning System;</li><li>High proficiency with Excel;</li><li>Experience with SharePoint and/or web publishing.</li></ul></div><div class="PostingCompetencies"><p>Candidates will be evaluated against the Parliamentary Precinct Operations and Corporate Security Office Employee Competency Profile – Specialized Support.</p></div> The purpose of this recruitment and selection process is to establish a pool of potential candidates that can be used in the future to staff the Business Application Support Officer position on an indeterminate or temporary basis.
