These services comprise a broad spectrum of technologies within IT End-User Computing, and are implemented using the production test (PRODTEST) and production (PROD) environments in a 24/7 support model. </p><p>The incumbent develops work plans and operational strategies for IT projects, and defines the technical deployment and provisioning approaches, processes and tools that best serve each project. He/she identifies linkages between projects and elaborates solutions for both internal and external clients. He/she also participates in the resolution of technical issues emerging during some of the deployment activities, and all of the provisioning activities.</p><p>The incumbent may be required to work irregular hours and overtime on short notice.</p><p>END-USER COMPUTING SUPPORT ANALYST<br />The End-User Computing Support Analyst is accountable for the day-to-day delivery of technology support services in the production test and production environments, for a specific subset of end-user computing technologies within the broad End-User Computing Technology Domain, all of which evolve in a 24/7 support environment. The position actively participates in the troubleshooting of end-user computing incidents and may apply minor device, software or platform configuration changes as workarounds following established frameworks to quickly recover the affected end-user computing while working closely with End-User Computing Senior Analyst &amp; Principal Analyst on root cause analysis providing them recommendations on support improvements. The incumbent plays a role in the process of end-user computing technology monitoring through the review of event trends, the determination of correlations with the technology environment, usage, etc., and the remediation of problems and issues. The position provides operational expertise on preventive maintenance activities (e.g. patches; firmware; hotfixes; etc.), and vulnerability management responsibilities relating to the standard configuration for end-user computing. </p><p>The incumbent may be required to work irregular hours and overtime on short notice.</p><p>SUPPORT CONSULTANT<br />The Support Consultant is responsible for resolving technical problems and for answering requests for support and network services on technology and IT related matters from Members of Parliament and their staff on the Hill and in constituency offices, from House officers, House of Commons administrative staff, Library of Parliament employees, Parliamentary Translation employees, the Parliamentary Centre and the Senate. The Support Consultant works for IT Service Desk. Provides IT support on a 24/7 basis working out of the ISD Call Centre by analysing and resolving technical problems within a specific time frame. Provides expert software, Web applications, network, infrastructure and consulting support services for all users within the Parliamentary Precinct and constituency offices. Meets with the client to ascertain needs with a view to developing and offering information and training sessions, either presentations or seminars, to groups of individuals.
