There is a<br />responsibility for leading a team of diverse technical specialists/experts in conducting ongoing maintenance or front-line<br />management of technology incidents or problems within the dedicated technology domain. Responsibilities require the<br />coordination and delivery of provisioning services and the operational implementation of planned changes, patches and fixes to<br />the productions environment. There is an accountability for leading the execution of technology releases in the production testing<br />and production environments or for ensuring the ongoing monitoring and capacity management of technologies to ensure that<br />performance meets standards established in Service Level Agreements and Operating Level Agreements, as well as leading<br />capacity planning and predictive trend analysis to ensure that the technologies can sustain the level of client services required.<br />The position contributes to the operational readiness and/or support for major IT projects involving new or upgraded<br />technologies or services, and ensures that technical resources are managed to support such projects. The position ensures the<br />ongoing supervision of a team of specialists at varying levels of expertise, and oversees the work of contractors providing<br />technology support services, as required. Responsibilities also include a client interaction role in the escalation of customer<br />issues as well as maintaining ongoing liaison and consultations with clients and users to ensure their satisfaction.</p></div><div class="PostingPrerequisitesSection"><span class="PostingPrerequisitesSectionTitle">Education</span><ul><li>Bachelor degree in information technology or equivalent combination of education and experience.</li></ul></div><div class="PostingPrerequisitesSection"><span class="PostingPrerequisitesSectionTitle">Experience</span><ul><li>Minimum of 5 years’ experience leading and managing an Information Technology team with direct reports.</li><li>Experience working in a data centre support role or in a data centre environment;</li><li>Experience assessing the efficiency of the practices and procedures used by a team, and experience providing guidance in order to continuously improve projects and day-to day operations;</li><li>Experience in both support and project driven environments.</li></ul></div><div class="PostingPrerequisitesSection"><span class="PostingPrerequisitesSectionTitle">Asset</span><ul><li>Knowledge of Microsoft and Cisco datacentre-related products;</li><li>Experience working with a remote team;</li><li>Experience with changes in technology and minimizing risk and disruption in operations (change management).</li></ul></div><div class="PostingCompetencies"><p>Selected candidates will be evaluated against the Information Services Managers’ Leadership Profile.</p></div> The purpose of this recruitment and selection process is to staff the position of IT Operations Team Leader on an indeterminate basis and to establish a pool of potential candidates that may be considered for temporary or indeterminate positions at the House of Commons.<div class="PostingEssentialInformation"><ul><li>Selected candidates who do not have valid second language evaluation (SLE) results will be assessed.
